SALTHOUSE PET BOARDING – TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. BOOKING AND PAYMENT
1.1 A non-refundable deposit of 50% is payable within 24 hours of placing a booking. Your booking is not confirmed until this deposit is received.

1.2 The outstanding balance must be paid no later than 7 days before the start of your dog’s stay. Payment may be made by card via your online account, bank transfer, or cash. Cheques and payment upon check-in are not accepted.

1.3 Boarding is charged per night.

1.4 You may make changes to your booking up to 14 calendar days after paying your deposit. This grace period allows flexibility to finalise your holiday plans. After this 14-day period:
-
Changes to booking dates will incur a £15 administrative fee.
-
Reductions in the number of nights within 4 weeks of the start of the booking will still be charged at 50%.
-
During peak periods, any reduction to the number of nights after the 14-day flex period will remain payable in full.
-

1.5 If you cancel your booking more than 4 weeks before the start date, your deposit (minus a £20 admin fee) will be credited to your account and can be used towards a future booking.

1.6 Cancellations made between 2 to 4 weeks before the start date will result in full retention of the deposit.

1.7 If cancellation occurs less than 2 weeks prior to the stay, the full balance remains payable.

1.8 Requests to change your booking dates are permitted but are subject to a £15 admin fee. Changes are limited to a 7-day window either side of the original booking. Changes outside this window will be considered a cancellation and treated as such.

2. DROP-OFF AND COLLECTION
2.1 Check-in: 2:30pm – 6:30pm
Check-out: 7:30am – 12:30pm
Requests for check-in/out outside of these times must be pre-arranged via email and, if agreed, will incur a £15 fee.

2.2 All dogs must be on a lead at all times upon arrival and departure, including in the car park.
2.3 No refunds will be issued for early collection before the booked departure date.

2.4 Late collections without prior arrangement will incur the cost of additional boarding nights and a £20 daily surcharge, subject to availability. If no space is available, we reserve the right to relocate the dog to a licensed alternative boarding facility at your expense.

2.5 Dogs not collected within 7 days of the agreed departure date will be considered abandoned. We will notify you and your emergency contact. If no response is received, the dog warden will be contacted and your dog may be rehomed. All associated costs will be recovered via legal means.

3. IDENTIFICATION
3.1 In accordance with UK law (from 6th April 2016), all dogs must be microchipped. Dogs without a valid microchip will be refused entry and may be reported to local authorities.

4. VACCINATIONS AND HEALTH
4.1 All dogs must have current vaccinations including kennel cough (Infectious Tracheobronchitis), administered at least 14 days before arrival. A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog. No certificate = no boarding.

4.2 If we need to obtain or confirm your dog's vaccination records, a £10 admin fee will be applied. If verification fails, boarding will be refused and no refund issued.

4.3 Owners accept that kennel cough can still be contracted despite vaccination. We accept no liability for related treatment or veterinary costs.

4.4 All dogs must be on a recognised flea treatment (e.g. Frontline, Stronghold, Advantage). Any dog found with fleas will be treated and charged accordingly.

4.5 Dogs must be in good health on arrival and must not have had any communicable disease within the past 30 days.

4.6 Pre-existing health conditions must be disclosed. We reserve the right to consult a veterinary professional if deemed necessary.

4.7 Medication must be clearly labelled with dosage and administration instructions. Staff administering medication are not veterinary-qualified.

4.8 We reserve the right to refuse admission to any dog deemed unsuitable for a boarding environment.

5. XL BULLIES
5.1 We accept XL Bullies, provided that all legal and licensing conditions are met. Owners must cooperate fully with our requirements to maintain compliance with our insurance and licensing.

5.2 A meet-and-greet and one-night trial stay are mandatory for all new XL Bully bookings.

5.3 Documentation proving vaccination, insurance, microchipping, and exemption certification must be provided at the meet-and-greet.

5.4 While muzzling is required in public, our private exercise areas allow unmuzzled play if deemed safe by staff.

5.5 Due to required 1:1 staffing ratios, discounts for multiple dogs sharing a kennel do not apply to XL Bullies—even if the second dog is a small breed.

5.6 The maximum boarding period for any XL Bully is 30 days in any calendar year.

5.7 If we suspect a dog may fall within the banned breed definition and cannot verify its exemption status, we reserve the right to refuse the booking.

6. INJURY AND ILLNESS
6.1 We accept no liability for illness or injury during your dog’s stay. In case of emergency, we will use your vet (if local) or our designated veterinary provider.

6.2 Owners are responsible for all veterinary costs incurred during their dog’s stay, including call-outs, treatment, transportation, and emergency care. These costs must be reclaimed from your own insurance provider.

6.3 We do not accept liability for injuries between dogs from the same household. Dogs may be separated at our discretion. Veterinary costs remain your responsibility.

7. BEHAVIOUR AND EXERCISE
7.1 Aggressive or uncontrollable dogs will not be accepted. If a dog becomes unmanageable during its stay, you or your emergency contact will be asked to collect the dog. No refunds will be issued.

7.2 All dogs will be walked on lead unless off-lead permission has been granted. Our exercise field is enclosed but not escape-proof. We accept no liability for escape.

7.3 Exercise areas may contain natural hazards (e.g. holes, uneven terrain, bushes). We accept no liability for injuries caused by such obstacles.

7.4 Dogs will be exercised alone or with dogs from the same household unless specific permission is given for group play. All mixed play is assessed beforehand and supervised, but minor injuries (e.g. scratches, bites) may occur. We accept no liability for such incidents.

8. FOOD AND BELONGINGS
8.1 Owners must provide sufficient food for their dog’s full stay along with clear feeding instructions. We provide and sterilise all feeding bowls.

8.2 If insufficient food is provided, your dog will be fed our standard complete kibble and the cost will be added to your bill.

8.3 You may bring bedding (except beanbags) and toys, but we are not liable for damage or loss. Dogs may exhibit stress-related behaviours (e.g. chewing) that are not typical at home.

9. PHOTOGRAPHY
9.1 By boarding your dog with us, you consent to the use of photos and videos taken during their stay for marketing purposes, including on our website, social media, and promotional materials. All media remains the property of Salthouse Pet Boarding Ltd.
